Free Drupal 7 Class
Hey hey, Chicago area librarians! The awesome Mick Jacobsen will be teaching Drupal 7 for RLA-CE on June 7th at my library, with assistance from one of my favorite partners in crime, Gwyn Stupar. This is a FREE program. I know, right? RLA is awesome.
(full disclosure, I am the co-chair of RLA…so yeah. I’m kinda biased but it doesn’t change the fact that it IS made of win!)
Registration is LIMITED, so sign up today!

Okay. Pitch over. *big grin*
I’m so honored and excited to be included in the Movers & Shakers edition of the Circulating Ideas podcast. My interview is at the end. Thank you so much, Steve. You’re doing amazing and awesome work. *hugs*
Check out our presentation, presented with Anthony Molaro: eBook and eReaders Basics. My focus is Collection Development and Staff Training. Presented at On the Front Lines in Springfield, IL.
a survey on teen/ya library services
Public librarians, I have a favor to ask! Please help a pal out and check out her survey on Teen and YA services. And then pass it on.
Another reason to stop supporting Amazon.
Brilliance Audio, owned by Amazon, has made the decision to stop allowing libraries to purchase and circulate their downloadable audiobooks. Gee, thanks Amazon!
question
Okay librarians, question: would a panel discussion on tips and strategies for social networking be useful? Or is this topic over-done? I would like to focus on successful and non-successful examples of accounts, tips for both personal and library accounts, and the importance of personality online. I’m also thinking bring someone in from outside the library world might be interesting. Any thoughts on this?
edit: Yep, I’m thinking for a library conference.
