How I feel at pretty much every dinner party ever.
What one eats at a Game of Thrones dinner party
To celebrate the release of A Feast of Ice and Fire, the cookbook written by two amazing women over at The Inn at the Crossroads, we attended a Game of Thrones dinner party last night. And it was epic.
Yep. That epic. Actually, it was just really really fun. You can view the few pictures I was able to snag on Google+ when I wasn’t stuffing my face. The biggest thing I’m being asked is about the menu. I have also had a few people ask me if the cookbook is suitable for vegetarians, and it definitely is. They even have a post about it on their blog. And if you are a pescatarian, you’re in even more luck because there’s lots of interesting fish options.
So here is what we ate and drank, by region:
From Across the Narrow Sea:
Honey-sweetened wine
From Dorne:
From the North:
Cold Fruit Soup, Beef and Bacon Pie, and Honeyed Chicken
From King’s Landing:
Sweetcorn Fritters, Summer Greens Salad, Cheese and Onion Pie, Peaches in Honey
From The Wall:
Iced Blueberries in Sweet Cream
From the South:
Arya’s Snitched Tarts, Honey Biscuits
If the recipe is available on their blog, I linked it. But most are understandably exclusive to the cookbook. Enjoy, and it may be June, but never forget: winter is coming.
